International Congress Experience-Being the Best You Can Be!

Hello AARC friends,
How can you summarize the impact of attending this yearly professional event in just a few sentences?
Each of us have different perspectives on what this Congress means to us. So as a patient and professional advocate here is what attending means to me: Not everything we learn is in a textbook or in our day to day work. The essential core factor to be my best revolves around education. The building blocks that this Congress provides me is the networking of health care professionals and inviting them to connect with me on AARConnect so we can share best practice, get help in areas that we are weak, and help a colleague with an area that I can be a resource to them. The seminars, while meeting state continuing educational requirements, go much further than just gaining the state requiurements for continued licensure. I have always believed that the state CEU requirement should be the minimum and not the maximum and we should be in a life-long learning mode attending as many educational events as possible. The social events allow us to get to know each other as people and is invaluable to me in my life. The vendors in the exhibit hall give me the knowledge that I need to enhance my career mission as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

So what does the Congress experience mean to me??? One word--priceless! Hope to see you again or meet you in Tampa, Florida in 2011!
