Shared Governance

Hello everyone,
​I was wondering if anyone has shared governance for your departments?  I'm looking to start a unit council/shared governance, and I would like some more information on how unit councils work at your facility.  How do you maintain the success of the council over time?

​I am currently the department chair for our group. This group consists of MLT, HIT , Resp, and Phlebotomy. There are other allied chair groups. We also have a shared governance group but I chose to be more involved with our department section. We are allotted a certain number of credits to do this both for department chair and share governance. Either to you take extra pay for credits awarded or you remove some credits from current load.
