Ladies and Gentleman of the Great State of CT,

On Tuesday, March 12, 2013, Lisa Mariani (CTSRC President-Elect) and I will be taking part in the AARCs annual Legislative Lobby Day in Washington, D.C.  In order for our trip to be truly successful, our five Congressional Representative and two Senators need to hear from you!  Please use the link below to go to the AARC Virtual Lobby Week page and click on e-mail to contact your representative and both Senators.  I promise you it is painless and takes at most 3 minutes of your time.
Lisa and I will be seeing representatives from all 7 offices.  So the more e-mail they get from you the more they will be inclined to listen to our information.  This year we are working on the Medicare Respiratory Therapy Access Act of 2013.  Our goal is to educate the staff of our elected officials so they understand the value of respiratory therapists as experts in the delivery of pulmonary self-management education and training services for Medicare beneficiaries who have been diagnosed with COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis and cystic fibrosis.  Your e-mails will reinforce that message we plan to deliver on Tuesday.
Currently, Connecticut sits in the 28th spot for number of messages sent to Washington, D.C. since the start of the Virtual Lobby Week.  That equates to about 29 people sending 90 messages.  Listen up CT, there are well in excess of 1500 licensed RTs in our state.  If everyone took three minutes to write, the capitol connection site once you place your demographic inforamation in and e-mail address figures out who your Congress person is.  It then send a letter to the Representative and both Senators.   We've written the letters for you.  You can also ask your patients to write, your Medical Directors, parents, spouses, children, grandparents, aunts, uncles.....OK YOU GET THE POINT!
In the past, CT always ranked in the top 10 of the 50 state societies when it came to sending messages.  Do us proud Connecticut.  Send your messages now!
