10 Year Anniversary of this trip!!

Since 2006, over 160 respiratory therapy students, practitioners, other health care providers and community members throughout the US
have traveled to Ghana to offer free health clinics, community health education and humanitarian aid.
We also work side by side with health care professionals in small (75-150 bed) rural hospitals and large (1500 bed) teaching hospitals.  Additionally, we provide education to nursing and midwifery students, nurses, doctors and other hospital staff.  A portion of our time is also spent providing community service assistance to rural primary schools.

The most recent respiratory advancement in Ghana is the development of respiratory therapy education.  In June of 2014, the University of Ghana established a Bachelor of Science degree program in Respiratory Therapy.   A portion of our mission in Ghana will be spent at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the University of Ghana in
support of program development and providing education for faculty, physicians and hospital staff.

Additionally, we will provide a 2nd Annual Critical Care Conference to physicians, nurses and emergency care providers.  This is provided in partnership with the National Ambulance Service and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
