In Educator's Defense

I just read about someone who met a student who had never heard of the AARC.  Being an educator, I take my duty seriously and do inform the student about the AARC.  That does not keep them from telling clinical affiliates and others they have never heard of it.  Some post graduate surveys came back to us saying they were members of the AARC but not the state organization!  I do not know how many times we talked about AARC and the state organization (including going to and representing our college in the sputum bowl).  We talked about articles read and discussed in class from the AARC times and RC Journal.  Sometimes you have to just scratch your head in wonder that they retained anything at all.  I will keep trying to educate the student about the AARC and the state organization, but I am not responsible if they deny knowing anything about it. :-)

Suezette,
It is like the old saying. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."
