1st Vegas secret for AARC Congress 2010

Vegas has so much to offer off the strip, but nobody ever gets there.  Here's my first secret place that I reluctantly share.  This is a small microbrewery that has a restaurant inside the brewing area.  They usually have at least 4 of their own brews on tap.  But the secret is that from 4-10pm each day, they set up a grill outside on a patio and serve up a slab of ribs with the regular sides for about $11.  Don't go to the main restaurant; you can't get the ribs in there.  Head over to the small stand on the left of the main entrance, just beyond the pizza place and get your name on the list.  They only have about 10 booths inside and there is always a wait.  They even offer outside seating, which isn't as bad as it sounds, since it is covered and next to the 15-20 foot grill.  A pint of good beer will set you back $1 or so.

Ellis Island Casino, 4178 Koval Lane.  From the strip, go 1 block east of Bally's on Flamingo.  It is between the Super 8 Motel and a Circle K/7-11

Prices listed are from a year ago, so they may have changed.

I almost forgot, they grill chicken there also, but skip that and go for the ribs.  Trust me.
