Hey Folks, we could use the help of 13 RT volunteers to help us educate the public about Lung Health. This Community Event is put on by AARC every year in the host city for the Congress.

We really need your help to volunteer for this fun event. We also ask for the support of Flordians to spread the word to the public and to COPDers in the Tampa area. If you work in the area, please let me know how we can work together to make this event a big splash in for your community!

Details of the event are below:

Hello,

My name is Scott Cerreta, a fellow respiratory therapist from the COPD Foundation. The COPD Foundation has joined efforts with AARC and the Florida Society for Respiratory Care (FSRC) to host two concurrent events at this year’s AARC Congress: Lung Health Community Outreach and COPD Screening as part of the Great American Screen-Off, and a COPD Education Day in Tampa, FL.

This is a unique opportunity to become involved in raising awareness for lung health and the number three killer in America, COPD! We are currently recruiting RTs to volunteer for this event. There are three different opportunities and 13 positions available, plus an additional 5 positions for RT students. So be certain to invite a friend. You must be a licensed RT to participate with spirometry testing. However, any state licensure will suffice.

As partners of the DRIVE 4 COPD campaign, the AARC and COPD Foundation highly encourage you to check out the 24M Monument on display from Nov 1st to Nov 20th. It will be on display down the street from the convention center at NW Terrace, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Tampa River Walk, 700 N. Ashley Drive.

A protocol manual and access to online training videos will be provided ahead of time for the 5 RT volunteers performing spirometry as part of the MSU protocol.
