Social Media- Just how important is it to stay connected?

Hello AARC friends,
There has been much written on the benefits of social networking in the business world. You can search for articles written on the internet but it is in the everyday news. While many in the business world have refused to "jump on board", the hard reality is that people are inaccessible by other modes of communication especially by phone. The world has spun into electronic media on SMART technology and communication is on the customers own terms of time. So the next time you have trouble getting responses in a timely manner or at all, consider the leading social media networks of Facebook, Linked-In, and Twitter. The AARC has links on all three social media networks. I was not on any of these networks as of 2 years ago, but through experiences as well as article submission and news reporting, I have realized that I must be engaged to remain in my professional position.
I am RRT5436 on Twitter, I have personal and professional FB pages as well as on Linked-In. So for this seasoned Therapist that remembers old school communication from 1971, I have been Mediarized!!!!

I understand Michael! I applied for the 18 month program taught by Donald Egan back in 1974. But he said that he wanted me to look forward as the two year programs were the up and coming thing to do. Guess this is just another wave to flow with. I also have FB, twitter and linkedin accounts, although I probably dont use them as often as I could.
They can make us get older, but we can still work the tools
