Wisdom for RC Students

Hello all, and congratulations to those who are graduating this spring!  You are about  to embark on a fabulous journey; one which you yourselves have the power to craft into something rewarding, satisfying and highly respected.  Just remember to never get complacent, always strive for something higher, and keep up with best practice and evidence based medicine!  If you find yourself "just going to work" and trying to "get through the day" light a fire and get thee to an AARC convention!  It will truly reenergize you and make you proud to be part of such an esteemed group of people.  (The parties are always fun, too!)  Stay abreast of the latest news and networking by joining your state association as well.  (Plus, being a member of both the AARC and your state group looks VERY good on a resume!).
For those of you just beginning your adventure as an RT student, I would like to say that "every clinical rotation is a job interview!"  You would be surprised how much "weight" first impressions have and how those of you who are truly engaged stick out in the minds of the people who may very well be interviewing you in the not-too-distant future.
Carry on proudly and best of luck to everyone!

Lesley
