You were probably taught as a child, "It's nice to share". Did you know that we've made it easier for you to share content and information on the AARC Web site? Many pages now feature the "AddThis" command bar; it's designed to work with Twitter, Facebook, Google, and many other social networking platforms, so that you can share important (or fun!) Web pages with your friends. (
See the demonstration video.)
On those pages where the AddThis bar is available, you'll find it to the right side of the page, and down a little bit from the top. If you hover your pointer over the bar, it will open up to show you the many services it offers. Of course, you will have to have an account with any other services you wish to use.
AddThis will work differently, depending on the service with which you use it. In the video example, we are
simply going use it to send an email to a friend to let him know about an interesting news story on the AARC Web. Our friend will receive an email message with our note, and a link to the page from which we send it.
If you are a Twitter or Facebook user, you can use the AddThis bar to post a message and link to your network of friends. If you have a Google account, you can use AddThis to add to your collection of Google Bookmarks. In addition to these services, there are almost 300 social networks and Web sites that you can access using the AddThis bar.
Make sure to be on the lookout for the AddThis bar throughout the AARC Web site, and use it to share your favorite bits of content!
