More than a few years ago, I called about 200 RT Directors in Pennsylvania and asked them these two questions:
1. Is your medical director an AARC member?
2. Does your hospital pay for her/his AARC membership?
The answers were all over the board, but what was most interesting was the high number of directors who said that their hospital paid for one/more professional memberships for their medical directors as part of their directorship contract/employment.
My question to all of you today is this: Is your RT medical director a member? If so, great! If not, can you demonstrate the value of membership to them?
