New Approach to Asthma Patient Education Program- For Asthma patients and Asthma Educators

By Fiona Shetty posted 12-11-2012 16:11

Patient education has always been an integral part of Asthma care and management. National and International guidelines for Asthma recommend educating patients on self- management skills for respiratory inhalers and assessing patient comprehension at all points of care.

The most important strategy to instruct patients about the correct use of respiratory inhaler is still unclear. Multiple inhalers with multiple techniques have added more confusion for patients.

Breathe slow, deep, forceful, steady and many such breathing patterns have been described by the Physicians for different inhalers, but patients tend to get confused and continue breathing incorrectly.

A demand arises for superior self educating tools that can help Asthma patients to understand how to breathe in correctly to get maximum benefit from their medication.

Check out this educational resource that saves Physician's time and provides better patient education on correct use of inhalers in English and Spanish.
