For all of you could not be here this year, I would like to give you some insights and highlights from the Summer Forum through the eyes af a manager.
President Gaebler set the tone for this year with his opening presentation "Moving the Profession Forward". He gave all the attendees insight into where we are going as a profession and what it will take from all of us to get there. The attendees were very engaged to here his news and updates.
Next we broke out to the management section for some in depths look on what is needed to start us in becoming key figures in healthcare with a talk from Patti DeJuilio and what her team has done for improving vent patients outcomes by getting them mobilized. This was followed us with Patti an Cheryl Hoerr stressing the importance and tips on improving multidisciplinary communications and making our voices heard when it really counts.
The day ended with an excellent talk by Cheri Throop on reliability for safety and improving the outcomes. To really help drive the message home, the first Management Section working lunch was taking this information and putting it to use in an outstanding workshop. Not only was the workshop a huge hit with the managers, but so were the box lunches that were trailed in conjunction with it.
Tomorrow I will share the events of day 2 so that even though you could not be here, you can still get some of the info that we received from the speakers.
See you tomorrow!
