IT´S JUST A JOKE, BUT...

By Adrian Gallardo posted 01-24-2013 11:07

A FEW MONTHS AGO I RED THE CHEST JOURNAL. I DON´T REMEMBER EXACTLY THE VOLUME BUT I DO REMEMBER THE "SECOND OPINION".
A DOCTOR, IN THE BEDSIDE, TALKING TO THE PATIENT: "WAIT A MINUTE, I HAVE AN APP FOR THIS SITUATION IN MY SMARTPHONE...". THE PATIENT, IN BED, SAYS: "I PREFERRED DOCTORS WHO REMEMBER OLD PHONES DIALING. DO YOU HAVE AN APP FOR THAT?"
I DON´T DISAGREE WITH TECHNOLOGY, BUT I USUALLY THINK WE STAND STILL WHILE THE PHONE "THINKS FOR US".
SOME DAY THE DEVICES WILL PERFORM ALL FOR HUMANS, WHO NO LONGER THINK? WE WILL ONLY ACTION?
FORGET MY ENGLISH. IT´S TERRIBLE... I DO KNOW
BEST WISHES FROM ARGENTINA

Adrian, We are just glad you participate on this site and we are not the grammar police. I think that if patients have the reassurance that technology is now mobile resulting in better diagnosis and care they are much more at ease than "I'll get back with you". It's all about the customer service training in healthcare. It has to be learned and practiced just like any other skill.
