  • RESPIRATORY CARE Intern Opportunity

    The RESPIRATORY CARE Journal is looking for a respiratory therapist intern for a remote position that will allow the individual to learn peer-review processes, journal production, and other activities. Interns will: 
    • Shadow Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor in the manuscript decision process.
    • Assist Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor in editorial decisions as assigned.
    • Shadow Journal staff in the production process (proofreading, etc.).
    • Participate in weekly staff meetings via Microsoft Teams.
    • Prepare a paper for publication in RESPIRATORY CARE.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all Journal activities.
    Qualifications are registered respiratory therapist; minimum baccalaureate degree, graduate degree preferred; minimum five years experience as a respiratory therapist; published in RESPIRATORY CARE or other peer-reviewed journals preferred; reviewer for RESPIRATORY CARE or another peer-reviewed journal preferred.
    The intern must commit to eight hours/week for six months; either January to June 2024, or July to December 2024.
    Interested individuals should submit a one-page letter of interest and curriculum vitae to Dean Hess, Managing Editor, Respiratory Care; dhess@aarc.org. The deadline is October 6, 2023.
