ACLS

By Susan Wynn posted 09-22-2010 08:07

We also require all our RTs to have ACLS. We also have them all go through NRP, and PALS as we can schedule it, but the ACLS is mandatory. We also require it for our Sleep Techs. surprisingly, many hospitals near us don't require ACLS for the RTs. (?) We go to all CODES and are one of 3 members of our Rapid Response Team (Critical Response Team - CRT, as we call it), so we feel it is very important that we require this of them.

I agree with you, our hospital doesn't require ACLS or PAL's. We respond to adult and peds codes in ED.
We have to clock out if attending a class that offers ceu's. This has been the policy since I started working here 12 years ago.
