Does anyone use the Philips-Respironic V-60 or Vision on your general patient floors or do you only use in intensive care or intensive care step-down?

Any information would be most apppreciated.

 Thank you - John Lindsey

We use the V-60 and the Vision in the ED, ICU and the floors.

We currently only used the BIPAP on the ED/ICU areas, our policy is in the process of being revised to reflect the usage of bipap on CMO patients on the floors. Is any one using bipap on CMO patients on the floors and is there evidence supporting this?
Thank you

At our hospital we use the V-60 in the ED, ICU and utilized for transport The V-60 is not used on the general floors. If a floor patient is going to be placed on the V-60 , he or she will be transferred to critical care first and closely monitored. A pulmonary consult will be required.

We use them in all areas. We are increasing our fleet of V-60's for their transport capabilities. The Visions are on their way out & we will keep them as long as biomed has parts.
John,
The V-60 is a great system to use in ICU, ED, or the floor.
Methodist Dallas Medical Center and Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in TX both use them regularly in all areas. The Director at Methodist Dallas is Revell Hicks-revellhicks@yahoo.com
