Nebraska Society for Respiratory Care

Hello fellow RT's, I wanted to fill you in on a really awesome feature that we have available to us for being an AARC member. The AARC has a way for RT's across the State of Nebraska and the United States to communicate with each other in one spot that everyone can use. If you have ever been on the AARC website before, you know there is a large amount of information everywhere and it is hard to decide where to start. The next time you are on the AARC homepage, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and look for a link called "AC AARConnect" (in the left hand corner). Click on that link and spend some time browsing. You will find everything from blogs to library entries and even upcoming events links. I have joined several different communities that I can browse and interact with and get answers that I seem have questions about. I recently joined an adult critical care journal community; lots of interaction and intersting reading. There is a free app that you can download to your phone or tablet that will take you directly to the AARConnect site without having the go to AARC.org every time. Go to your app store/play store and search "membercentric" or "member centric". The picture on the app has an orange boarder around a blue circle with white outlines of three people that are blue. I looked for the app on my mac computer but only could find it available for iPads and iPhones. I have had it on my android tablet and phone for some time and have found that I am on it more than I thought I would. When you open the app, scroll to the AARC and use your AARC number and use your AARC password to get into AARConnect. At some point, you have already joined the community of "Nebraska Society" if you are recieving this message. Whenever you renew your license, there are different levels of membership that you can sign up for. I never knew what any of it was because I would only do the minimum and wasn't vested to my career. Now that I have been getting more and more involve with my career and profession, I have come to rely on the AARConnect. I have a strong suspicion that the NSRC will be using this as a major way of communicating with all the RT's across the state on various topics in the future. Spend a few minutes on AARConnect and share what you think using this platform to communicate your thoughts. I am excited about the potential we have right in front of us. Corey

Thanks for sharing Corey; good information.  Hope to see some more Nebraska RT's using this.
